Program Description

The primary purpose of this program ”Wear a Smile” is to make personal contact with those in need, bringing them joy, laughter, loving care, and last but not least---smiles! We like to go anywhere we can be of assistance; to hospitals, old folk’s homes, centers for children at social risk, and economically deprived areas. In short, anywhere you may find people that need to know that they are important as individuals, and that there lives matter.

Our program brings hope to those who are at risk of losing all hope. We want to reach out and encourage those in less fortunate conditions. Our objective is to help people deal with life’s problems in a positive way. We believe that the therapy of humor, joy and laughter will contribute to the healing process of our bodies, as well as our inner beings.

Inspired by the initiative and teachings of Patch Adams and others in the field of healthcare we have adopted the personalities of Community Clowns. In the area of healthcare, Hospital Clowning has become more and more recognized not only as a unique way to provide momentary distraction and relief, but also as an essential part of the patient’s healing process. A positive attitude and a relaxed mind leaves the body free to concentrate on its healing process and thereby often speeds the recovery time. A merry heart does good like a medicine.

You may find us in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or other such institutes going from bed to bed or working with children in small groups doing any one of the following activities:
